There is a significant amount of symbolism surrounding butterflies. Some may view butterflies as a symbol of hope, change, life, transformation, new beginnings, rebirth, renewal, etc. We begin to see butterflies during Spring. This is when our surroundings begin to transform and come back to life. There is this new energy in the air that feels almost tangible. A new beginning. A fresh start.
Whenever Spring arrives, I find that I become re-energized. Perhaps this is due to the extra Vitamin D entering my system. Needless to say, I feel ready to take on the world! I devise goals, exercise more, engage in some spring cleaning, let go of the things that are no longer serving me, and so on. I have to say that I feel so good during this season (aside from the occasional cold that I get). This is the time that I get things accomplished and make some difficult decisions.
About a month or two into the season, I begin to fall back into old habits. I push my goals aside, and lose that forward momentum that I had at the beginning of the season. This has become a vicious cycle. Why do I repeat the same pattern over and over again? I do not have an answer for this question right now. This will involve some exploration. Perhaps this exploration will lead to a new beginning or transformation. I am hopeful that I will gain some useful insight in relation to my habits.
Consider ways in which you have transformed. Consider the new beginnings in your life (personal, career-oriented, etc.). How did you feel during this time of change?
