How to do Gate Pose

In today’s practice, we explore Gate Pose (or Parighasana)! Yes!!!

Gate Pose has a number of physical benefits. This posture offers a lovely stretch to our legs, our chest and our side body (especially the rib cage). In addition, this pose really invites us to check in with our center (aka our core) and can help strengthen our backs.


Not only does this pose offer a gentle stretch to our body, yet it also helps us build a strong foundation.


I personally love doing this posture whenever I have been sitting for lengthy periods of time and when I feel a little stiff or achy.


Optional:

Feel free to bring along a yoga block, book, blanket or any other item that you can use to prop you up a bit as we explore today.
