Somatic Yoga Lower Body Yoga

This somatic yoga lower body routine includes movements and postures designed to help reduce lower body tension, stiffness, and discomfort, while also improving circulation.

Somatic practices invite you to shift from thinking to feeling, exploring sensations within your body.

Throughout this practice, you’ll have opportunities to observe what arises in your awareness during moments of stillness and as you move. You may observe sensations, thoughts, emotions, beliefs, images, or colors. You’re encouraged to approach these experiences with curiosity and an openness to learn more about your inner landscape.

Somatic practices are about finding what feels good in your body, listening to your body's internal cues. While I’ll provide guidance throughout this practice, you can choose to follow or adapt the movement and poses as needed.

Most of this practice will be done lying on your back, except for the final few moments of this practice. With this in mind, feel free to sit up at any point during your practice if that feels better in your body. You can explore these postures from a seated position, experiencing the somatic yoga exercises with a different relationship to gravity.

A yoga strap or a belt might be useful for today’s practice.

I’d love to hear how this practice goes for you! Feel free to share your thoughts, experiences and feedback with me in the comments section on YouTube.
