Yoga for Stress and Anxiety Relief
Destress, unwind, relax and let go with this Yoga for Stress and Anxiety Relief practice.
The holidays are fast-approaching (if you are doing this practice in real time)! This time of year can feel like A LOT to some of us. There could be external pressures being placed on us. This could be financial pressures (e.g. buying gifts, food), family pressures (e.g. who to visit, when and for how long), work pressures (e.g. deadlines before the end of the year), and more. There could also be some internal pressures based on external expectations.
I am here to remind you to BREATHE. Breathe with me. Take a slow breath in through your nose, filling your lungs with air. And breathe out through your mouth with pursed lips (like you are blowing out a candle). Relax your shoulders away from your ears. Find some gentle and easy movement with your neck. Give your hands a little shake. And perhaps say something kind to yourself. This is just an invitation.
Dear friend, I am here to tell you that you are not alone.
I am also here to remind you to take time for you this holiday season. This could be movement, reading a book, going for a walk, getting a massage, baking, singing, playing a game, etc. Do something that will fill your cup! Self-care is so important, so please don’t skip out on it!
Today’s class is intended to support you during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. This class includes heart and hip openers. We explore restorative and supportive yoga postures. We stay low to the ground, connect to our breath and slow down our roll.
I invite you to return to this class whenever you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, angry and sad.
Sending so much love and light your way.
