Balance

Hey there, welcome to Day 6 of our 7 Day Yoga Challenge! Today’s practice is all about balance.

Consider your understanding of the word “balance.” What thoughts or words come to your mind? What does balance look like and/or feel like? I invite you to come to the mat with these questions in mind, and maybe you explore these questions as we move on the mat.

In today’s yoga flow, we explore balance in both the mind and body. When one is out of whack, the other feels it. For instance, if you are thinking about something that is causing you to feel stressed, the physical body usually responds through muscular tension. The tools of yoga can help us explore mind-body balance. The practice gives us an opportunity to go inward, check in, notice and respond. This can help bring us closer to that balanced state.

Our practice includes breathwork and yoga poses that will test our balance. Our journey thus far has prepared us for these balancing postures. You have all that you need for today’s practice. If you happen to fall out of a yoga posture, I invite you to shake it off and try again. Practice makes progress. Be kind to yourself as you explore.
