Yoga For A Healthy Spine

Welcome to Day 2 of our 7 Day Yoga Challenge, and also welcome to our Yoga for a Healthy Spine practice.

I’ll let you in on a little secret, really all of yoga is “yoga for a healthy spine.” With that said, we explore a combination of postures and movements that encourage spinal flexion (think cat stretch), extension (think cow pose), lateral flexion (side bends), axial extension (finding length through the side body by reaching upwards), and rotation (twists).

In addition to this, we explore yoga postures and movements that turn on the core muscles. These muscles support the spine and can help improve our posture.

I encourage you to drink water throughout your days as the spine LOVES water.

This class is near and dear to my heart. I didn’t fully appreciate the importance of my spine until I was injured in a car accident.

Spinal health is crucial! Consider your daily movements. Now, consider the role that your spine plays in making these movements happen.

This class is all about giving back to our spines so that way we can move better and feel better.
