Sacral Chakra Yoga - 35 Minute Yoga Flow
Welcome to your 35 Minute Sacral Chakra Yoga Flow.
The sacral chakra is the second chakra that resides above the root chakra. This chakra is located between the pubic bone and the belly button; about 2 inches below your belly button.
This chakra includes both the pelvic region and the hips.
When the sacral chakra is balanced, we may feel joyful, calm and creative. Perhaps we find that we can connect with others more readily. Or perhaps you notice that you are able to go with the flow and let things go with more ease.
If this chakra is unbalanced, we may feel stuck, tense, lack energy and creativity. We may hold onto things that are not useful.
The sacral chakra is related to the water element.
As water flows, it may encounter obstacles along its way, such as rocks and branches. Instead of remaining stuck in one place, water flows around the obstacle, moving with ease.
Water can be blocked and become stagnant - unmoving and stuck.
Consider how you are like water.
The sacral chakra is closely connected to our emotions. The postures that we explore today are mostly hip openers. The hips are said to “store emotions,” which includes unwanted emotions.
Today, we explore the idea of releasing emotions or feelings that are not useful to us in the present moment. This can help balance the sacral chakra, inviting us to flow like water.
Finally, the sacral chakra is related to the color orange. Feel free to wear that color or you can visualize an orange ball of light on your low belly light up on each inhalation and exhalation.
