Day 1 - Morning Yoga Stretch
Welcome to your 7 Day Yoga Challenge! Ring in 2022 with some mindful movement, intention setting and breathwork.
Day 1 is a Morning Yoga Stretch. This class offers a gentle wake-up to the mind and body as we ease into the day.
We ease into this Morning Yoga Stretch with gentle movement and stretches.
We bring awareness to the breath right away as breathwork can help prepare both the mind and body for the day ahead.
As we move into the practice, we connect breath to action. One of the best postures for syncing breath to action first thing in the morning is cat-cow. Cat-cow encourages gentle movement throughout the entire spine, including the neck (which is an extension of the spine).
Our morning flow also includes inversions intended to get the blood flowing in the opposite direction. You may feel a flush of energy as you transition from a standing forward fold to mountain pose.
Included in our class are a couple of stronger postures. At this point in the practice, you will be all warmed up and ready to take on these postures!
We end this class with a gentle hip opener, along with an opportunity to reflect upon our practice.
This morning yoga class offers a full body stretch; from your head to your toes.
If you are looking for movement to start your day off right, well then this 40 minute Morning Yoga Stretch is for you!
Although this class is labelled “morning,” you can do this practice in the afternoon and early evening!
This class is fantastic when you are feeling low in energy, and/or if you are experiencing stiff and sore muscles.
